UK car history and market checks
Know what it's worth,
before you buy.
Type a registration. Get DVLA history, MOT defects, live market value, the faults that show up at that mileage, and a single deal score. Private sale or trade, no spreadsheets, no guesswork.
01A sample check
Example outputStrong margin against local resale. Watch the DPF on a test drive. Suggested ask: £6,800.
Your results vary by plate, mileage, and region.
02What you actually get
Gov data, parsed
DVLA spec sheet, every MOT since 2005, defect and advisory text. Auto-flags mileage rollback or implausible jumps between tests.
Live market comps
Auto Trader, Motors, Gumtree. Outliers thrown out. Falls back to a Claude estimate when listings are thin, like rare cars and recent plates.
Faults by mileage
Cached per make and model: the specific things that go wrong on that engine at that odometer reading, with typical repair costs.
0 to 100 deal score
Weights margin, MOT pattern, mileage vs age, region uplift, and provenance flags. Plain-English breakdown, not a black box.
Region uplift
Resale priced where you sell, not where the car is. Transport cost, holding cost, and selling fees subtracted automatically.
Optional full HPI
£4 per check. Stolen marker, outstanding finance, write-off category, book valuation. Run it only when you are seriously considering the car.
Pipeline and tax
Track every car through interested, saved, bought, sold. Log expenses. Export a UK tax-year P&L as CSV for your accountant.

04Questions
What counts as a deal score above 70?
Decent margin against your local resale, no major MOT red flags, mileage in a sensible band for the car's age. We never recommend buying outright. Your judgement is the last filter.
Why is HPI £4 on top, not included?
The provenance check is a paid API call to a third party, CheckCarDetails. Bundling it in would price the regular check too high for people who already know the seller. You only pay for HPI when you are seriously considering a car.
Where does the market price come from?
Live scrape of Auto Trader, Motors, and Gumtree listings matching the make, model, year, mileage band, and region. Outliers are filtered. If fewer than 5 comps land, the system falls back to a model estimate.
Is this UK-only?
Yes. DVLA, GOV.UK MOT, and the market scrapes are all UK-only. Plate format and tax calculations are UK-specific.
Can I cancel and get a refund on unused credits?
Credits do not expire. If you want a refund on unused credits, email support and we will handle it.
Does this work on mobile?
