Flipcar UK
Terms of service
Last updated 29 May 2026
These terms govern your use of Flipcar UK at flipcaruk.com. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you don't, please don't use the service.
What the service is
Flipcar UK is a research tool for people buying and selling used cars in the United Kingdom. It pulls together public DVLA and MOT data, scrapes live market listings, estimates likely faults, and produces a deal score with a suggested ask price. Optional HPI provenance checks are available as a separate paid add-on.
This is not financial or legal advice
Outputs from Flipcar UK are a research aid, not a recommendation to buy or sell. Deal scores, suggested prices, fault lists, and valuations are estimates. They depend on third-party data which can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong. Always inspect a vehicle in person and use your own judgement before parting with money.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your account email secure.
- One account per person. Don't share credentials.
- You must be at least 18 to use the service.
- We can suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, scrape it, attempt to break it, or use it for anything illegal.
Credits and payments
- New accounts get 1 free vehicle check credit. Additional checks require buying a credit pack.
- Credit prices are shown at checkout. We may change pack pricing for future purchases, but credits you've already bought keep their value.
- Credits do not expire.
- Full HPI provenance checks are a separate £4 charge, paid only when you start a check.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see your card details.
Refunds
Credits are digital and consumed at the moment a check runs, so we generally don't refund used credits. If you have unused credits and want a refund, email support@flipcaruk.com within 14 days of purchase. If a check fails through a fault on our side, we'll refund the credit (or the £4 HPI charge) without quibbling.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, mirror, or automate access to the service beyond your own normal use.
- Resell the data you pull out as if it were your own product.
- Reverse-engineer or interfere with how the site works.
- Use the service to harass, defraud, or otherwise harm anyone.
- Look up registrations for any purpose other than your own legitimate buying or selling research.
Third-party data
The service surfaces information from DVLA, the GOV.UK MOT history service, third-party listing sites, and HPI providers. We pass it through to you in good faith but make no warranty about its accuracy or completeness. If something looks wrong, treat it as a signal to check the source directly, not as gospel.
Availability
We aim to keep the service up but make no uptime guarantee. We may bring it down for maintenance, upgrades, or because an upstream provider has gone offline. Where possible we'll give notice.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Flipcar UK is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service, including any decision you make based on its output. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't legally be excluded.
Termination
You can close your account at any time by emailing support@flipcaruk.com. We can close your account for breach of these terms with reasonable notice (immediately for serious misconduct). On closure your data is deleted, except payment records we have to keep for tax purposes.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
